Balance Bike
Brats n Rugrats
Some kids love to ride through puddles, while others avoid the mud like the plague. Some like love their bikes, with others are hesitant. In the world of balance bikes, most bikes are designed for the rough and ready kids, but Kinderfeets is an exception. While strong and durable, the Kinderfeets adds a unique level of interaction not found on any other bike, a chalkboard surface. Beyond simply engaging hesitant kids, the chalkboard surface allows all kids to “create their own bike” time and time again. Made with quick growing birch wood, the Kinderfeets balance bikes are also eco-friendly. For every tree that is harvested to make Kinderfeets another tree is planted in its place.
Frame & Durability
While wood bikes have their limitations, overall were we impressed with build of the bike. The construction of this bike easily allows young children to quickly climb on and off through the low cut frame and is light enough for even a young child to hold it up. The saddle style seat is comfortable and very supportive and has a removable and washable seat pad. Like all wood bikes however, the Kinderfeets does have a turning limiter and the seat is a challenge to adjust, requiring an allen wrench and the removable and reinsertion of two bolts.
The wood construction of the bikes also makes the bike ideal for indoor and outdoor use. One parent testers, whose four-year-old suffers from anxiety as a a result of poor eye site, loved being able to allow her daughter to get comfortable with the bikes indoors before heading outdoors. The Kinderfeets airless rubber tires did not damage indoor floors and its handle bars are capped with a foam covering to protect walls.
